Foods Eaten by the Cow as a Cause of Eczema
Filed under: 4 - Atopic DermatitisFoods Eaten by the Cow as a Cause of Eczema.-It has been said that eczema may be due to sensitivity to foods eaten by the cow-particularly linseed or cottonseed. I see no reason why this should not be so. However, I have never seen a patient in whom I thought it was so, and once I tested a series of forty-three eczematous babies under 1 year of age with cottonseed, linseed, soybean, corn and alfalfa, all foods which are used in the standard diet of many dairies. There were three slightly positive tests to corn, and one to alfalfa-no positive tests to any of the others.
